Forgotten Soldiers

You can record an in game demo if you suspect a player may be cheating or using hacks and show it to our JAG team for review. Best way is to use the in game demo recording feature.


1.  First you need to make sure your console is enabled. Run the game and select options and then, game options to make sure console is enabled.

2. To record a demo join the server and go to spectator mode.  Press your attack/fire key or mouse click to scroll through players until the player in question is selected.

3.   Open console by pressing the ~  key to the left of the 1 key, type this in console and then press enter:

/record

or

If the player's alias is, cheaternoob and you want the demo file to be named cheaternoob,
type this in console and then press enter:

/record cheaternoob

Note:  If you decide to use the same name multiple times when recording more demos, be sure to not duplicate it exactly and add a variable to the name, cheaternoob1, cheaternoob2 cheaternoob3 etc... Otherwise you will overwrite the previous demo with the new one.

You will then notice the demo is recording on the lower left hand corner of your screen.


4.  When you have recorded enough evidence, type this in console and then press enter to stop the recording:

/stoprecord

Note:  If you would like to review your demo before submitting, and if the name of the demo is cheaternoob, type /demo cheaternoob in console and press enter. To stop viewing demo before it ends just press escape.  If your demo continues recording while recording it during a map rotation the player's view while viewing the demo will change from the first person view to third person. You can toggle back to the first person view by pressing F3 as long as you have not mapped this key differently from the default F3 in OPTIONS & CONTROLS/CONTROLS/MULTIPLAYER CONTROLS/Spectator View Mode.

5. Now you need to locate your demo. Depending on which version of CoD and your Windows operating system:




Call of Duty World at War


Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\players\demos


Windows XP:

C:\documents and settings\YOURUSERNAME\local settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\players\demos


Note:  If you cannot find your AppData folder, it could be a hidden folder and you may need to show hidden files and folders by going to control panel, Appearance and Personalization, Folder Options, View and enable Show hidden files, folders or drives and click OK.

Windows 10:

For hidden files and folders in Windows 10 go to Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, File Explorer Options, View, enable Show hidden files, folders, and drives and click OK.

If you would like to view your demo before posting, leave it in the demo folder.  Press the ~ key to open console, then type:

/demo NAMEOFYOURDEMO

and then press enter.



6. After you have found your demo file, create a new topic.  Then type in all your information, on the bottom  click on Attachments and other options, click on browse, select the demo file and click post.

You should now have a  ban request with a  demo submission for our JAG team to review. The demo file attachment link will show directly under your post as in the example below.
